Hell Freezes Over...Again!

Been a long time since they rock & rolled
Two more things to add to the "I can't believe this is actually happening..." list of 2007, the return of Led Zeppelin and the Eagles. Led Zeppelin haven't played together in ages, I think the last time was the Atlantic 40th anniversary in the late '80's. I watched this performance on tv with Jason Bonham on drums and though I've read the band wasn't pleased with the show I was mesmerized by it. "Whole Lotta Love" still carried real power even at that point. Even if this is a one off show, hopefully it will be Pay Per Viewed and DVD'd to death so we can all see the Hammer of the Gods one more time!

The second item is the new Eagles album, a two CD set no less. After many aborted attempts to record a new album, the band whose last full studio album was released in 1979 returns with actual new music. And unlike that "Hole In The World" from a few years ago, the new song doesn't suck. Apparently, "How Long" was part of the Eagle's set list from the beginning of their career and it's being revived as the first single. To show they're serious, they've even filmed a video. In an unusually right wing move by Don Henley, their new disc Long Road To Eden will be available only at Wal-Mart. Sure Don, save the rainforest but the hell with third world labor earning a nickel a day. Damn, I'm getting political again.

An update on 9/19, The Sex Pistols have announced a reunion show for the 30th anniversary of their debut album! 1977 is definitely back again.
